Rapid Spot™ is a biodegradable, synthetic hydrocarbon blend formulated into a liquid concentrate. It is designed to perform as a spotting fluid pill to free stuck pipe. The product is easily field blended into an invert emulsion with several key components (water, salt, lime, barite) and pumped down hole over the interval of stuck pipe. Rapid Spot™ combines unique emulsifiers with special mud cake cracking and penetrating agents.
These characteristics make Rapid Spot™ very effective in coating native and commercial clays, reducing further water hydration, and creating a partial dehydration of the wall cake. Our “No-Gumbo” Drilling Fluid System
HOW DOES IT WORK
-The polymer encapsulates the clay as soon as it is cut from the
formation, preventing clay from hydrating.
-Due to the low coefficient of friction exhibited by the polymer,
the cuttings do not stick to each other or form large chunks that
continue to build as they come up the annulus.
-The polymer has an affinity for metal, it coats the BHA and
reduces the build up of clay reducing the bit balling.
-The long chain characteristic of the polymer produces a fluid
exhibiting a great carrying capacity, cleaning the hole.
-The system has proven effective in drilling extremely gauged
holes.
